Snow day!

Today, there was snow. Rather a lot of snow (Canadian friends: sssh! This IS a lot of snow!).

glenatron had a snow day, because the roads around here were pretty much impassable ... unless you're insane. So we walked up to the stables together.

The village sign - OUR village sign! <3 Thor is a badass and doesn't care about a little bit of snow. He only takes issue when it turns to ice and forms giants...

The lane up to the stables was fairly picturesque.

Zorro was a little excitable about going out this morning. I know it's naughty of him, but I was very impressed with this rear - it was incredibly slow, controlled and stately. A proper film horse rear.

Running! Zorro loves running.

There's another horse over there somewhere.

Cash was a very happy pony.

And then he ran about a bit, too. He loves running even more than Zorro does.

Zorro did a lot of trotting around, just to proof that he's not a big lunk who storms about all the time.

Although he would like us to remember that he is fierce and impressive.

Cash did some more running...

...and bouncing...

...and fighting...

...and racing.

Ben and I made a brief stop at the pub on the way home (brief, because: £3.60 for a pint? D: Welcome to Surrey, everyone), and then we decided to follow a random track because it seemed like a good idea at the time. Hmm.

Ben didn't have a woolly hat of his own, so he borrowed my spunk-eye panda hat which was an hilarious birthday gift from Jen. I love this photo. <3

And I love this photo too! One of his friends left a "There will always be a Moxon in Winterfell" comment on FB. XD

It was a very narrow, very steep, very snow-covered path down the hill. Hilarity ensued.

On the lane back to the house.

And some photos of MY FACE, that I nabbed from Ben...

Ben's not the only one who can pose heroically on a snowy hilltop! ...Oh wait, maybe he is.

My opinion on this adventure is clear (also the fact that my Unicorn ears appear to be reacting like the real thing amuses me).

I'm supposed to be going back to the 'shire on Sunday, so I'm hoping it doesn't snow again between now and then...

My those are some frisky equines!

SO MUCH JEALOUSLY for your perfectly winter-dreamy stroll to the stables and pub and that lane, oh, that LANE!

Here in Denver, Colorado winter is mostly urban and beige.

I'm a recent invader of these parts, so I'm in awe of the picturesque surroundings too. Where I come from, there's nothing but flat farmland for miles and miles and miles ... maybe with the odd tree, here and there. It's not exactly inspirational.

Ahhhhh you got so much snow! We got a dusting but it mostly turned to sleet and slush. Sniff. This is my first winter down south and we definitely got more when I was in Oxfordshire!

Beautiful pictures :)

Your photos make me smile :)

I really need some snow photos where I am, out in the woods... not quite as magical as Surrey, but still great scenery.

We have gotten no snow whatsoever this winter. Jealous of your perfect, winter day. I always want a huge snowstorm on solstice so I can stay in bed with a lover on the shortest day on the year.
