Thing, thing and another thing.

Oof, maybe that eight mile hike yesterday was a bad idea ... my foot is all swollen again this morning. Ben gives me a despairing look and asks if I'm sure I don't want to get it looked at by a doctor, but really, what are they gonna do? And as I can actually use it, I'd feel like a bit of a fraud seeking medical treatment. If I was hopping lame then I might concede to seeing a doctor. :P

I forgot to mention an excellent trip I had to the Oxfam bookshop, when I was last visiting the 'shire; I popped in on a whim, to check out the antiquarian section more than anything, and there - lying out on the shelves, in plain view, as though waiting for me - were Michael Morpurgo's "I Believe In Unicorns" and Nanny Ogg's Cookbook. And if you don't know who Nanny Ogg is, then GTFO. The latter may be the second best charity shop book I have ever bought; today, we dined in Ankh-Morpork! I made slumpie for dinner, had Surprisin' Banana Soup for lunch and made Klatchian Sheeps' Eyes, too. Good day. :)

Anyway, for those of you wanting to see a photo of Iris, here's a little action sequence from yesterday. I would like to point out that mare is entirely innocent in this - Cash has turned into a little yellow tyrant when it comes to fresh grass (I move the fenceline back every morning).

Functional but still swollen and painful a fortnight after the injury is definitely medical attention time in my book.
