Folk Metal Sunday: Eluveitie - "Inis Mona"

This is one of my favourite songs, so you will have almost certainly heard it before. But the band posted a Facebook status today that made me smile, so I thought it ought to be the Sunday song: "We just realized that our video for Inis Mona on Youtube has more views than Switzerland has citizens. Guess that's a reason to say thanks, everyone!" Haha. :)

Eluveitie are a Swiss band with Celtic-themed songs, and have been together for nine years. In my humble opinion, they are one of the finest bands of the folk metal genre. They have a fantastic range of instruments - the more typical guitars and drums mixing seamlessly with traditional folk instruments such as the hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes, violin, bodhrán etc. - and have used the Gaulish language in many of their lyrics. They are a large group, and every single member is ridiculously talented.

Add to that the fact that frontman and mutli-instrumentalist, Chrigel Glanzmann, is a very lovely guy and he smells nice ... well, you have a winner, really. :P

Gorgeous playing! Our (I'm from Ukraine), though try. But such heat. Such this tension. Breathtaking backdrop to play.
