Iris Returns.

Yesterday, Ben and I did a 400 mile round trip to collect his (newly fixed) horsebox and his mare. We took the train up to Yorkshire to get the box, and then drove to my parent's place in Cambridgeshire which is where Iris has been living for the past week. There we were kindly given dinner, before packing up and driving on home to Surrey.

Pepsi, it seems, has finally come to the conclusion that I am no longer her human; she came over for scratchies when I first arrived, but then she decided that she would rather go and stand in the field shelter with her back to me. She ignored me when I came into the field after that, and when mum and I were in the field together, it was mum who she chose to hang out with. Can't really blame her, it has been four weeks since I last saw her.

Anyway, I have a head full of cold or something, so have an illustrated post.

I got up super early to do my Saturday morning chores with Pam's horses, first. Here is Xefira running down the field.

I like a man who reads! ;)

There was a random pig at the mechanic's yard. Later, we also saw a cockerel wandering down the road, so clearly that day was the day for random farm animal sightings.

Here's an Iris!

5

And a Pepsi.

6

And a Beatrice.

7

Also Devil Cat, the resident badass tom.

11

And Little Brother, the not so badass tom, with his feathered eyebrow...

16

Haha! My dad is ducking because Iris was about to clonk him over the head with her jaw, but it looks like he's distraught over her going... XD

10

Iris and Bea.

14

Bea and Pepsi.

Iris on the journey home (there's a window in the back of the cab).

Sunset as we drove south.

We thought this cloud looked a little like a crane or swan in flight.

I'm happy you have Iris and the van back.

And pigs always make me laugh, and somehow a pig in a typical mechanic's yard with stuff strewn about makes me laugh even more. I mean, it's just so... random!

Yeh! Ben and the mechanic were talking, and I just turned around and found the pig standing there and looking at me! I would have got a better photo of him had I not been so surprised to see him there. He'd wandered off by the time I got my camera out. :P

Those sunset pictures are majestic. It's cool that you seem to be basically surrounded by horses all the time. Sounds like an ideal life, haha.
