An autumn day in Waggoners Wells.

Today was pretty awesome! :) We slept in until 10am, Ben went and sorted the horses while I sorted the washing, and then we went over to our friend Anne's house where Ben gave her and her lovely mare, Heidi, a lesson. On the way home from there we stopped off at Wagoners Wells, a set of 17th century man-made lakes set amidst woodland that I have featured here before. Autumn is a pretty good season to visit in. We collected some chestnuts and had lots of fun being ridiculous and taking silly photos of each other. :3 Ha.

I'm having a very low energy day and I think the combination of walking and laughing totally did me in, because I was knackered by the time we left. So I stayed home and had a nap while Ben went up to the stables in the wind and the damp to work Iris (hey, there has to be some benefits to not having my own horse here - I ain't going out in that weather if I don't have to! :P). Bahahahaha.

The day drew to an end with Ben cooking me a tasty dinner, and Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs on DVD. We watched Up a couple of days ago, too, so it's been a good week for surreal animations!

Anyway, if you like trees, you might like to make a perusal of these photos. I apologise for the two idiots who occasionally appear in them.

Ben with Heidi.

Oh yeh, today was another day of playing with the new-old camera; I am mildly obsessed with the 16:3 image size.

Heidi has a really pretty eye - a little like Macey's, although his is blue whereas hers is almost white.

Who is this handsome man?

2

AAAAAAA. THERE'S A TROLL LOOSE IN THE WOODS.

GET BACK BENEATH YOUR BRIDGE, VILE BEAST.

3

Ben is pretty good at posing with trees. I'm sure he'd also like me to let you know how high above the ground he is here, he was quite pleased with himself. :P

Ahahaha, oki, this photo ... he was down by the shore, looking for chestnuts, and had his head turned slightly to his right and his gaze downcast. He looked very handsome, Ranger-style, and I'd JUST clicked the shutter to take this awesome portrait when he turned ... and gave me this look. I almost fell down the bank I was laughing so hard. My man, everyone!

I has a chestnut. :D

This camera has a special setting to help with panning, so I made Ben run about in order to try it. :)

This is actually a fairly modern stone, erected in memory of Sir Robert Hunter (who founded The National Trust), but it does look pretty cool and mystical from this angle!

Autumn leaves turning the stream gold. :) If the water was silver instead, then this photo could pass as an illustration for my NaNo novel this year!

We shared the camera and Ben took a lot of really nice pictures (he's really good at getting close details), buuuut apparently he's not going to upload them to his LJ tonight ... so I'll link you to them when he does. :P

Oh, and I also used my Etsy profits to order some really nice coloured ribbons to hang my pendants on, some jumprings for earrings, and the last of an Amazon gift voucher to buy a biiiig tube of E-6000 glue so I hopefully won't run out again anytime soon! Good times. :D I can't wait to finish this batch of pendants. :3

*sigh* I noticed it on my train ride from Stansted to London in September - the landscape looks almost identical to mine up here in northern Germany (except for the chimneys), but you have the much prettier names for places, hands down. Just a random observation... XD

Aww, Heidi is so pretty! Is she a purebred PH or is there some QH blood in her?

I really love learning about place names, they always reveal a lot of history!

Heidi was an import from Ireland, and I think her official breed is just Irish Sporthorse (usually a cross between Thoroughbred and Irish Draught, although I suspect there's probably other bloodlines in her).

Beautiful fall colors! I really like the panning shot. It's creepy and fun and pretty.
