List meme: days four, five and six

I realise you've all been anxiously awaiting the next installment in this meme ... what, you haven't? Oh. Well. It's here, anyway. I am a bit behind because I've just been too tired to write out coherent answers for the past two days, but I have the morning off tomorrow so LIE-IN! HUZZAH!

5 Things I’d Do If I Won The Lottery
While I'm dreaming, I'm going to pretend that I've won a totally ridiculous amount on the Euromillions, and have won it now.
1. My lottery plan (what? Everyone has a plan, right?) has always been to buy or build a livery yard. I would buy a really gorgeous house with a lot of land - I'm thinking old farmhouse, or rose-covered cottage - and then I would kit the yard out to make it the best it could be: roomy stables, post-and-rail fencing, arenas, all-weather tracks, hay barn, heated tack room, hot water wash area and solarium ... etc. I'd move in mine and Ben's horses, as well as the horse that I would buy for my BFF Jen, and then open it up to liveries. That way, I would have created an income. I would also divide my land (I'm assuming I have a lot of acres :P), and give half of it to The Working Horse Trust. They found out that they were losing their home last October, and have just 3 months left to find a new home for their 15 horses.
2. Buy one of Wood-Splitter Lee's amazing art dolls. I really really want one, but they are sold via eBay and regularly go for hundreds of pounds.
3. Commission another Unicorn model from Sovae. She made me a model of Miri (see icon) years ago, and I would love models of Oshono'il and Corbeau to go with him! And then maybe I'd commission BABY versions! :D *glee*
4. Become Ben's sugar momma and allow him to work as a horse trainer full-time. He would have a dedicated area of My Awesome Yard that I mentioned earlier. :P Oh, and I'd buy him all the custom-made Western saddles he wanted!
5. Travel. Mostly on horseback. Preferably along historical routes. Ben and I could just go off for months at a time...
Other things I would do is give money to my friends and family and support my favourite charities. The above list is mostly just me being given free-rein to be totally selfish. :P

5 Costumes I’ve Worn on Halloween
This won't be a list, as I've only been trick-or-treating once - many many years ago, when fallenfaun was still living in the UK and she took me onto the American airbase. I dressed as a witch and got lots of American candy; this is also where I discovered my love of Reese's peanut butter anythings. For the past few years I've dressed as a highwayman and ridden with the Shires for the Fright Night's, but that was for a (awesome) job; otherwise, it's not something I dress up for.
(this picture hasn't been photoshopped, btw, my talented mum captured it with a combination of flash and slow shutter speed!)

My 10 Favourite Movies of All Time
1. Hot Fuzz. I simply can not fault it - what a perfectly put together movie!
2. Solomon Kane. So apparently I am the only person who loves this film ... I guess I'm just a Purefoy fangirl.
3. Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit. I'm cheating and putting all these films together, because I love each and every one.
4. Labyrinth. It's a classic, I don't think I need to explain this choice. :P
5. Kingdom of Heaven. Honour and chivalry and courage and a fantastic portrayal of Saladin. Gorgeous.
6. The Princess Bride. Much like Labyrinth, this has to be on here!
7. A Knight's Tale. This movie defined my teenage years. My mate and I were always quoting from it!
8. Cyrano de Bergerac (1990 version). Just ... my feels. I have so many.
9. Pirates of the Caribbean. Again, lumping all four movies in one.
10. Brave. Merida is basically my perfect princess ... and she has a goddamn Shire horse. <3
Honourable mentions to Avengers, the Iron Man films, the Zorro films, The Truman Show and The Man In The Iron Mask.

Who doesn't love Labryinth???
Dec. 11th, 2013 02:47 pm (UTC)
I know, right?! I would have to be very suspicious of anyone who said they didn't like it. :P
Dec. 11th, 2013 03:13 pm (UTC)
I think we could successfully sit and watch movies all day while drinking tea.

Those Woodsplitter dolls are AMAZING!
Dec. 11th, 2013 04:11 pm (UTC)
Well, if I win the lottery, I'll fly you over here and we can do that. :P Hahaha.

Aren't they just? She had one, recently, that was an almost life-sized Unicorn fawn that you could hold in your arms and cuddle. So adorable. I've never looked at a baby photo and felt mothering instincts, but I definitely wanted to snuggle that pink Unicorn. XD
Dec. 11th, 2013 05:01 pm (UTC)
Well, get on that! :P

Wow! I want to cuddle a unicorn....
Dec. 11th, 2013 05:04 pm (UTC)
Oh, okay, wow - just went to look at the WoodSplitter dolls and now I want one, too!
Dec. 11th, 2013 03:24 pm (UTC)
Oh, I DO love 'A Knight's Tale' - and 'Brave' of course.

I've been meaning to re-watch 'The Truman Show'.

I will trade you all the Reese's for all the Violet Crumble! We recently discovered a British Emporium near my aunt's house in Colorado Springs - I was ready to load up on Cadbury until I realized the bars were $3-4 EACH!
Dec. 11th, 2013 04:05 pm (UTC)
Violet Crumble is Australian, I think, otherwise I would totally do a sweet swap with you! $3 a bar is ridiculous, we have to pay similarly extortionate prices for American food. :(
Dec. 11th, 2013 04:10 pm (UTC)
I think there is a similar one, Crunchie, that also has the honeycomb stuff. It's funny because we do have Cadbury, especially at Easter, but not the same things.
Dec. 11th, 2013 04:14 pm (UTC)
Ohh! Yeh, I see now. Basically the same thing. There must be some reason why not all the products are available in all Cadbury-stocking countries, but I have no idea what that reason is...
Dec. 11th, 2013 04:23 pm (UTC)
World Market has Crunchies for $1.25 but I don't know if there's one near you.
Dec. 11th, 2013 03:30 pm (UTC)
That photo is amazing.

I love Labyrinth, it's such a classic film.

I am also a fan of Lord of The Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Princess Bride, A Knights Tale and Brave. The others you mentioned I haven't seen.
Dec. 11th, 2013 04:15 pm (UTC)
You might like Solomon Kane? I think it's pretty fun. The necromancer dude in it is awesome. Oh, and obviously I have to recommend Hot Fuzz. :P Have you see Shaun Of The Dead and The World's End?
Dec. 11th, 2013 05:01 pm (UTC)
I have see Shaun of The Dead. I will check Solomon Kane and Hot Fuzz out :D
Dec. 11th, 2013 06:24 pm (UTC)
Whoa. Those fantasy sculpture things are crazy and cool.

Your lottery dreams sound a lot like mine from about 10 or 15 years ago.

Dec. 11th, 2013 06:26 pm (UTC)
And Brave! OH MY GOD. I never watch movies like that but I went to see that one in the theater and I LOVE it. Now I might watch it tonight since oyu reminded me of it again. I love Merida. Such an awesome girl hero.

And have you ever seen The Secret of Kells?
Dec. 11th, 2013 06:27 pm (UTC)
I have The Secret Of Kells on my LoveFilm list, I stumbled across some pictures from it and thought it looked amazing. Really looking forward to seeing it!
Dec. 11th, 2013 08:55 pm (UTC)
Awesome! I feel like you'd really like it
Dec. 11th, 2013 07:27 pm (UTC)
Awww you have one of Indigo's models! I've known Indigo/Sovae for years and it's been such a pleasure to watch her art mature over the years. I'm sad I never got to meet her, we used to be on the same forum when I was a lot younger and chat all the time. <3

I would also love a Wood-splitter Doll, they are beyond gorgeous. :)
Dec. 12th, 2013 05:23 am (UTC)
NO WAY! Wow, small world! I had Miri made ... wow, I have no idea how long ago it was. Several years now, I think. Her attention to detail was incredible; I designed him to wear tiny gold chains around his forelegs and on his horn, and she actually included them! She even painted the stripes on his neck, despite the fact that you can't see them unless you pick his mane up. I also have an unpainted cast of a little Unicorn fawn she made (I've been wanting to paint it for years, but I'm too scared in case I ruin it :P).
Dec. 12th, 2013 10:04 am (UTC)
Yeah she's pretty amazing! I actually have a paint your own winged wolf from Windstone that my friend Nam gave to me too that I need to paint but haven't for the same reason. That can be a project for the new year I think. :P
Dec. 12th, 2013 02:27 am (UTC)
I love every movie that you mentioned, except I haven't seen Cyrano de Bergerac or Solomon Kane. Also my favourite Simon Pegg movie has got to be Shaun of the Dead, but I love the whole trilogy he did!
Dec. 12th, 2013 05:19 am (UTC)
Ahh yeh, the whole trilogy is awesome! He's a clever guy.

You might like Solomon Kane if you love the rest; IMDB's synopsis (I'm terrible at describing films and books myself) says, "A ruthless mercenary renounces violence after learning his soul is bound for hell. When a young girl is kidnapped and her family slain by a sorcerer's murderous cult, he is forced to fight and seek his redemption slaying evil". Also it features Pete Postlethwaite, what's not to love?

Cyrano is a French film and is by turns charming, funny and really, really sad. Also lots of fancy swordplay. :)
Dec. 12th, 2013 05:32 am (UTC)
Cyrano De Bergerac is amazing.
Dec. 12th, 2013 06:26 am (UTC)
A few years ago, your lottery plan #1 would have been mine as well...
And I agree about two of your movies, wholeheartedly!
