More meme; this one will be a photographic list.

What’s In My Nightstand / Beside My Bed

This is the book I'm currently reading, on loan from Ben's mum. It's beautifully written and I very much like the central character of Lymond, but it is very slow going for me because, to be honest, I don't think I'm smart enough to read it. :P The characters (of which there are a lot) are referred to by many different names and titles which constantly confuses me, and they also like to speak Fench or quote poets I've never read in order to make what I suspect are very witty points; so I spend much of the time feeling quite baffled about what's going on.

This is my statue of Pepsi, who I ordered from the Northern Lights stand at Olympia many years ago. This is actually a stallion mould, which you would see if I turned her over (my mare's got balls! XD), but the pose and the build were so Pepsi that I figured it didn't really matter. They painted it to look like her, right down to the white diamond on her belly.

My statue of Miri, made by Sovae, who I mentioned earlier. He was made from scratch, mould and all. After several years of safety, he broke his leg a couple of months ago when a book fell on him, but fortunately I was able to glue him back together!

I'm not quite sure how this little guy ended up as part of the bedside table posse; he was one of the things I brought with me from home, meaning to sell him on eBay, but in the end I just couldn't bring myself to. I've had him 13 years, and to me he was never just a toy. I named him Mancha, and he was one of the characters who starred in an ongoing story I used to add to every time I went to bed (handwriting stories at bedtime was a longstanding tradition for me. It was just a natural progression from acting out stories with my cuddly toys).

Inside the purple box is my engagement hare. <3 I'm sad to say he does spend more time here then on me, because I have a horror of wearing and losing expensive jewelry and my track record with dangly belly charms is not a good one! But when I'm not spending my day wrestling horses or tramping through muddy fields, I feel like it's safe for him to come out.

The shelf below is somewhat less well ordered, but here a few things it contains. These two are my notebooks for dream records, on the left, and for writing down snippets of story when the muse strikes. The dream diary was a gift, I think, as was the forest Unicorn; my parent's bought it for me in Spain.

My icicle decorations that I bought from Rattenberg, my favourite town in Austria. These are all glass! Rattenberg is famous for its glass making, and it also has two really old castle towers (the second is very remote and rarely visited, but Jen and I found it and I, naturally, climbed up the wall to get inside. I am a bad person).

Other things on the top shelf are a bunch of old photos, a lock of Pepsi's tail, a random SD card that I've only just found and small change. The drawer below is where I keep my bras, and below that is just general stuff; old letters, tickets, stamps etc.
