Folk Metal Sunday: Forefather - "Eostre"

Today's song is an instrumental from the Surrey based, Anglo-Saxon themed band Forefather ... who I have featured here before. I'd thought that it was from Celtic paganism that the 'Easter' holiday really derived - it being a fertility festival after all, hence the eggs, and nowt to do with a dead Jesus - but glenatron pointed out to me earlier today that Eostre was actually a goddess of Germanic mythology. At first I was D: for being a dumb-arse and not knowing that already (when I really should have because, my Saxon obsession aside, I HAVE THIS ALBUM and should really have made the connection ... but, alas, I am a thicky), but then I was :D because this totally fits in with my Saxons vs. Vikings war with tussmorke. Ha!

So yes. Have some more Forefather. Have a particularly epic, rolling tune of pure fertility awesome.
