It was all right and I didn't suck, but I don't think driving will be something I ever do for pleasure. I'm only learning 'cause it's turning out to be a bit of a necessity, unfortunately - right now my job and house and stables are all within walking and cycling distance, but that will be changing soon.
The only time I stalled it was at the crossroads, as I was a bit worried 'cause it's a busy road anyway and there was a car sat behind me so I was fretting about making them wait. I managed to get across the road on the third attempt, lol.
It took me a couple of goes to get the whole break-clutch thing, but I figured it out in the end. Apparantly my instructor was really impressed with my steering, starts (apart from the crossroads incident) and my ability to learn really quickly. So, yay?
We drove past the Shires on the way out and they were in the yard harnessing up, so I was like "Oooh ponies!" and then "NO WAIT I AM BEHIND THE WHEEL OF A CAR". But we didn't crash and no one died. Good times.

Sounds like a good first run. Was it your first one ever?
Are there no automatics in Britain? ._.?
